The workshop is strongly recommended for residential habilitation and day habilitation staff, especially mid-level managers who must ensure that plans and daily notes meet both billing and quality standards. The topics will address required habilitation documentation and the person-centered approach to service delivery. Service coordinators will learn the quality standards they should expect in habilitation plans.

The beginning of the session contains Medicaid requirements for the residential habilitation plan, how the ISP interfaces with the residential habilitation plan and practice developing a plan.

The second half addresses the daily documentation requirements for billing and quality that went into effect July 1, 2002. In addition, we will discuss Individual Plans of Protective Oversight, community inclusion, personal allowance and risk management.

Course Objectives

• Participants will understand how to use person-centered information from the ISP to develop the residential habilitation (or day habilitation) plan.
  
• Participants will learn how to structure a plan that will include Medicaid requirements as well as person-centered information.
  
• Participants will learn daily documentation requirements, the options for daily notes and the distinction between billing and quality standards.
  
• Participants will understand how to develop Individual Plans of Protective Oversight, how to build community inclusion into the plan and rules for personal allowance.

Registration is required for all sessions. Registrations will NOT be accepted beyond the 'Register By' date. Handouts and certificates will only be provided to those whose names appear on the pre-printed sign in sheets.
